St. Anne’s Junior High students honor the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

This week during St. Anne’s trip to Washington, D.C., our Jr. High students experience the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a monument dedicated to American service members who have died without their remains being identified. Located in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier stands atop a hill overlooking Washington, D.C.

Our students also had the honor to participate in the Wreath Laying Ceremony. The gift of flowers at a memorial site is a ritual that occurs around the world, understood in every culture. These type of memorials are made each day at Arlington National Cemetery.
